How it works

When you’re ready to host an apprentice or trainee, we make it easy for you. At GetCareers, we:

  • Advertise the position for you.
  • Interview applicants, undertake an aptitude test and check relevant references – all to ensure we can recommend the best candidate for your role.
  • Arrange unpaid work trials, arrange pre-employment medicals and even supply PPE.
  • Deliver onboarding and inductions.
  • Undertake regular ongoing performance assessments.
  • Act as a mentor and counsellor – helping to identify avenues for improvement, resolve issues and provide the relevant care to ensure your apprentice is focused.

This helps us to identify diligent, motivated, career-minded apprentices and trainees who are keen to work, and who suit your business and its culture. We provide you with our candidate assessment, giving you the final say on who you employ.

We take care of the paperwork

As a GTO, we manage the administration side of things for you so you can focus on your business. This includes:

  • Registration of the Apprentice or Traineeship Agreements and associated government reporting requirements.
  • Workers’ compensation claims and rehabilitation.
  • Wages, taxation and superannuation.
  • Annual leave and sick leave.
  • Pre-employment medicals.
  • Workplace safety reviews.
  • Safety education.
  • Off-the-job training registration, progress and reports.

Comprehensive Training Delivery

GetCareers is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), which means that we can also deliver on the training needs.

Whether it’s traditional face-to-face training, on-the-job assessment or mixed-mode delivery, we partner with you to ensure that your apprentice or trainee gains the relevant skills and competencies required to attain their qualification and progress through their career. Each one of our programs is delivered and assessed according to national standards.

A safe, flexible employment arrangement

We know that circumstances change, and there may be times when you can’t provide employment for the full term. When you partner with GetCareers, your apprentices and trainees are technically employed through us. This means that, as we are their legal employer, there’s no risk to you if things don’t work out on your end. The responsibility is on us to find and re-host them to complete their trade.

We simply ask that our host businesses genuinely commit to employ a new starter for minimum of 12 months to give them the best opportunity to settle fully into their trade.
