CPC33020 - Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying

Become a Bricklayer

Bricklayers, or blocklayers, play a crucial role in the construction process. They create the structural bases for buildings by hand – essentially, building the bare bones that get turned into houses, offices and other buildings. Without them we wouldn’t have the homes or classrooms you’re sitting in now.

What does a Bricklayer do?

Bricklayers can work anywhere: on the ground, at heights, on scaffolding, in tight spaces and in most weather conditions. They’re the ones out there laying brick, pre-cut stone and concrete blocks to build and repair buildings, walls and paved areas.

A Bricklayer’s work sets the foundations for new walls, partitions, arches and other structures that see new homes, shops and other structures take shape. It’s a vital role in the construction process, as bricks often form the structural base of many buildings.
