Why do I need to nominate my preferred trade?

Choosing a trade and a career path is a highly personal thing, and selecting an apprenticeship is a three- or four-year commitment. We can’t make the choice for you – you need to make a judgement for yourself about whether or not it’s right for you. And when applying, it’s up to you to demonstrate to us, and your potential employers, that you’re the right choice for a particular trade.

So, when you apply, show that you’ve done your homework. Demonstrate that you have knowledge of the field and potential career paths, and that you’re cut out to do it – this gives you the best chance of being selected for the position.
